Description

The Sylvia is a single-light wall light with a clear glass dome shade mounted at the top of a vertical brushed gold stem, extending upward from a circular backplate. The fitting takes a single E14 bulb (sold separately) inside the glass dome, casting light upward and outward through the clear glass while the metal stem adds vertical presence to the wall surface.

Designed for hallways, staircases, bedside positions and alongside bathroom mirrors, the Sylvia provides both ambient and task light depending on bulb choice and positioning. The 292mm height sits comfortably at eye level when mounted at standard switch height (1200-1400mm from floor), and the 146mm projection keeps the glass dome clear of doorways and circulation routes. The upward light cast reflects off adjacent walls and ceilings, spreading the light further than the direct output of the bulb alone.

The brushed gold finish on the metal stem and backplate provides a warm metallic accent that pairs with brass hardware, warm oak, terracotta, and neutral-toned interiors. The clear glass dome allows the bulb to be visible, so filament-style LED bulbs show their full decorative effect. The 127mm width of the backplate provides sufficient fixing surface for solid wall attachment without needing an oversized plate that dominates the wall.

The fitting takes a single E14 (small Edison screw) bulb up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 4-6W LED filament bulb in 2700K-3000K for warm ambient light, or a candle-style LED for decorative effect visible through the clear glass dome.

What height should it be mounted at?

For hallway or staircase use, mount the backplate at standard light switch height (1200-1400mm from floor level). Can it be used in bathrooms?

The glass dome is clear, so the bulb inside is fully visible when the light is on. This makes the Sylvia well-suited to decorative filament LED bulbs where the bulb itself contributes to the visual effect of the fitting.
