Description

The Stateroom is a 686mm tall table lamp built around a turned antique nickel metal base with a bell-shaped white cotton linen shade above. Two E27 bulb fittings inside the shade (bulbs sold separately, maximum 60W each) provide task and ambient lighting through the fabric, which diffuses the light evenly across the shade surface rather than creating harsh shadows.

Designed for bedside tables, console tables in hallways and desks where adjustable overhead lighting is not available, the Stateroom provides sufficient light for reading when paired with warm-white LED bulbs in the 8-10W range. The 406mm shade width suits tables and surfaces 600-900mm wide without overwhelming the proportions. The lamp base sits on a clear acrylic plinth that lifts the metal body slightly off the surface, preventing direct contact with wood finishes.

The antique nickel finish shows a brushed texture with subtle tonal variation that suggests age without being heavily distressed. This makes it compatible with both traditional interiors (pair with dark wood furniture and warm fabrics) and transitional spaces where metal accents bridge classical and contemporary elements. The cotton linen shade is a natural off-white that warms slightly when the bulbs are lit, creating a soft glow rather than stark white illumination. The shade is secured to the frame with two decorative pull-chain switches that allow each bulb to be controlled independently.

Frequently Asked

What bulbs does the Stateroom take?

The lamp has two E27 (Edison screw) fittings, each rated for a maximum 60W bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with two warm-white LED bulbs between 8-10W and 2700K-3000K for reading and ambient light.

Can each bulb be controlled separately?

Yes. The lamp has two pull-chain switches attached to the shade frame, allowing you to switch each E27 fitting on or off independently. This gives flexibility to use one bulb for lower-level ambient light or both for task lighting.

What size table does the lamp suit?

The 406mm shade width works best on tables or surfaces between 600-900mm wide. On narrower bedside tables (below 500mm) the shade may overhang the edge slightly, while on wider console tables the lamp can be paired with decorative objects to balance the surface.

Is the shade removable for cleaning?

Yes. The cotton linen shade lifts off the frame once the finial at the top is unscrewed. The fabric can be dusted with a soft brush or lint roller. For deeper cleaning, spot-clean with a barely-damp cloth and distilled water — do not submerge or machine wash.
