Description

The Sri is a King bed frame in mango wood, 161.6cm across and 211.7cm from head to foot. Four square posts carry small turned caps, the headboard is built as a grid of flat panels and reaches 120cm from the floor, and a lower footboard repeats the same panelling at the other end. The wood is sandblasted, which raises the grain and leaves a shallow texture across the posts and the side rails. A linen headpad in a natural tone fits over the headboard and is removable, edged with embroidery along the top and the sides.

The frame measures 161.6cm across by 211.7cm from head to foot, and that is the footprint to measure a room against. The base is slatted for its full length and carried on a central rail running head to foot, so the frame takes a mattress on its own. The headboard stands 120cm from the floor, well above a stack of pillows, while the low footboard leaves the end of the bed open, so it can sit against a wall or stand clear in the middle of a room.

The frame is mango wood and the headpad is linen. Each one is hand carved and assembled by hand using traditional woodworking techniques, and the sandblasting is done piece by piece, so the depth of the texture and the run of the grain differ from one bed to the next. The Sri range also holds a Super King bed, a wardrobe, a chest of drawers and a bedside table, and the bed is made in moss as well as this natural tone. The mattress and the bedding are not included.

Frequently Asked

What are the outside measurements?

161.6cm wide, 211.7cm from head to foot, and 120cm to the top of the headboard.

Is the linen headpad included?

Yes. It comes with the frame and is removable.

How much weight will the frame carry?

450kg.

Does it need a separate base?

No. The base is slatted for its full length and carried on a central rail.

How do I look after it?

Wipe the surfaces with a soft dry cloth to lift dust and moisture, always along the direction of the grain. Mild soap and water can be used, but sparingly, and spills should be soaked up and dried immediately. Keep the frame out of strong direct sunlight and away from extremes of heat and humidity, which cause fading, cracking and splitting.
