Description

The Sri is a king size bed frame in mango wood, 161.6cm wide, 211.7cm from head to foot and 120cm to the top of the headboard. The wood is sandblasted, which raises the grain and leaves a textured surface rather than a flat one, and the four posts are topped with turned finials. A low panelled footboard closes the foot end. A removable linen headpad in moss is laced to the headboard round its edges with a contrasting natural cord and tied at the tops of the head posts.

The frame takes 161.6cm of width and 211.7cm of length, which is the figure to measure a room against rather than the mattress size. The headboard reaches 120cm from the floor, so there is something to sit up against with the pad behind. The frame is rated to carry 400kg and weighs 80kg itself, which makes it a two person job to bring in and set up.

The frame is mango wood and the headpad is linen. Each piece is hand carved and put together by skilled makers using traditional woodworking, and the sandblasted surface is what gives the wood its texture, so the grain reads differently on every frame. The same bed is made in super king, and in a natural colourway as well as this moss one. A mattress is not included.

Frequently Asked

What size is it?

King. The frame measures 161.6cm wide by 211.7cm long and the headboard stands 120cm from the floor.

What is it made from?

Mango wood, with a linen headpad.

How much weight will it take?

400kg.

Is the headpad removable?

Yes. It is linen in a moss tone, laced to the headboard round its edges with a contrasting natural cord.

Is a mattress included?

No. What comes is the frame and the headpad.

How do I look after it?

The wood is sealed, but wipe it regularly with a soft dry cloth and always along the grain. Mild soap and water can be used sparingly, though water left standing will damage the finish. Keep it out of strong direct sunlight, which fades the tone, and away from extremes of heat and humidity, which can crack and split the wood. Do not leave rubber or plastic sitting on the surface.
