Description

This is a two-tier wall shelf in beige: two long, flat boards held apart by a pair of columns, each built from three stacked rounded forms. Those forms have a softly faceted surface with a carved look, which makes the shelf sculptural without making it fussy. It is made from MDF and firwood and measures 80cm long, 20cm wide and 25cm tall, so you get two levels of display from one piece on the wall. At 5.3KG it is a substantial shelf rather than a slim ledge, and it reads as a small piece of furniture.

At 80cm long it sits well above a sideboard, a desk or a chest of drawers, and it gives a bare stretch of hallway wall a purpose. The 20cm width takes paperbacks standing upright, small framed prints leaning against the wall, little vases and candle holders, while the open sides keep everything easy to see and reach.
