Description

The RAW Lampholder E27 is the part a lamp screws into, made up on the flex of a pendant or wired into a lamp. A cylinder of antique brass with two bands of fine knurling, one round the shoulder and one round the foot, and a plain brushed band between them. A short tapered cone rises from the flat top where the flex enters. The brass is brushed to a soft aged gold, with the knurled bands catching the light as fine texture against the smooth middle. There is no shade and no shade ring, so whatever lamp is fitted is the whole of what is seen. It is heavy and deliberate in the hand rather than a plain working part.

It is the part everything else is built around: a shade goes over it, a flex runs into it, and the lamp you choose sets how the light reads. It is a part rather than a finished fitting, so it is bought alongside whatever it is going to carry or connect to rather than on its own. That is the point of buying the pieces separately: the shade, the flex and the holder are each chosen on their own, and a run can be made up to a length and a drop that no finished pendant would give you.

The holder is E27. It is rated IP20, for dry indoor rooms.

An E27 lamp. Bulbs are supplied separately so you can choose the brightness and colour you want.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, on a compatible dimmer, provided the lamp you fit is a dimmable one. The fitting has no dimmer of its own.

Can it go in a bathroom?

No. It is IP20, which covers dry interior rooms only. A bathroom needs IP44 or better.
