Description
These are four stoneware bowls for the Christmas table, each 13cm across and 7cm tall and holding 584ml. That capacity makes them a generous everyday bowl rather than a small dish: enough for a proper helping of porridge, cereal or soup. The outside is a soft beige scattered with snowflake motifs that run all the way round; we like that the inside is left plain, so the pattern frames whatever you serve without competing with it. Each bowl sits on a short foot that lifts it slightly off the table.
They suit the run of December mornings and winter evenings: porridge on Christmas Eve, a bowl of soup after a cold walk, trifle or Christmas pudding with cream after the main meal. Four bowls cover breakfast for a small household or a festive table for guests, beside your everyday plates. They are as at home at the kitchen table as in the dining room. Beyond the holidays the snowflakes keep them right for the whole of winter, so they need not go back in the cupboard once the decorations come down.
They are made entirely of stoneware with a reactive glaze. A reactive glaze changes as it fires, so the finish varies a little from bowl to bowl and no two are quite alike. Stoneware holds heat well, and these bowls go in the dishwasher, the microwave and the oven, so you can warm soup in one, bake a small crumble in another and wash them all up together afterwards. For a winter table, set one on each plate before guests sit down, so the snowflakes are the first thing they see.

Frequently Asked
How big are the bowls and how much do they hold?
Each bowl is 13cm across and 7cm tall and holds 584ml, a generous size for cereal, porridge, soup or pudding.
Can these bowls go in the dishwasher and the microwave?
Yes. The bowls go in the dishwasher and the microwave, and in the oven too, so warming food and washing up afterwards are both simple.
What are the bowls made of?
They are 100% stoneware finished with a reactive glaze, so the finish varies a little from bowl to bowl and no two are quite alike.
How many bowls do I get?
You get four bowls, all with the same snowflake pattern on a beige outside and a plain glazed inside.
Are they only for Christmas?
The snowflakes make them a natural fit for December, but they suit any winter breakfast or supper, and the plain inside keeps them practical well beyond the holidays.
