Description
The Skoura is a large pendant light with a faceted steel shade, built from open pentagon and hexagon faces that meet in a near sphere. Fine strands stretch across every face in a starburst, and the shade carries a warm brass colour, hung from a black cable and a matching black ceiling canopy. At 50cm across it has real presence, and the overall height is 150cm from the canopy to the base of the shade. It takes a single E27 bulb with a maximum of 60W, and the bulb is not included, so the choice of light colour is yours. Its IP20 rating settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms only.
Hang it over a dining table, in a stairwell or in a hallway with a generous ceiling height, where its size can be appreciated from several angles. The open faces let the glow of the bulb through the brass frame, so the shade works as a decorative piece by day and a warm, broken pattern of light by night. Black and brass is an easy pairing with dark painted walls, natural wood and other warm metals, and it suits a living room or bedroom that wants one strong focal point at the centre of the ceiling.
The body is steel, and steel is strong and rigid, which suits an open frame like this one. There is no switch on the light itself: it is switched at the wall, just like a standard ceiling light. Because it is wired into the mains, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and it runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz. The installation instructions come as a download, so your electrician can read them before the day of fitting, and the packed weight is 2.99KG, a useful figure when you lift the box.

Frequently Asked
Can the Skoura hang in a bathroom?
No. It carries an IP20 rating, which means it is made for dry indoor rooms only, so keep it away from bathrooms, wet areas and anywhere outdoors.
Which bulb does it take?
It takes one E27 bulb with a maximum of 60W. The bulb is not included, so you are free to choose the brightness and colour of light you prefer.
How large is the shade?
The shade is 50cm across, and the overall height is 150cm from the ceiling canopy to the base of the shade, so allow for that drop above a table or walkway.
Does it have its own switch?
No, there is no switch on the light itself. It is switched at the wall, in the same way as a standard ceiling light in your home.
What finish does it have?
The steel shade has a warm brass colour, while the cable and ceiling canopy are black, giving the two-tone black and brass look across the whole pendant.
