The Shiraz cushion carries a large-scale floral damask worked in gold across a deep emerald green ground. It is a jacquard, which means the pattern is woven into the cloth rather than printed on top, so the leaves, scrolls and blooms have real depth and hold their definition from both sides. The face has a soft, slightly raised chenille-style hand, and the whole cushion is finished with a twisted rope pipe in gold that follows every edge. It measures 45 x 45cm, the standard square size that most cushion pads are sold to fit.
