Description

This is a small stoneware espresso cup, 5cm across and 5cm tall, that holds 50ml: a cup for an espresso or a short coffee rather than a mug for tea. Each one is hand decorated, so no two are quite alike. Rows of round dots run around the body and frame a motif of nested arches on the front, and a rounded loop handle sits on one side. The body widens gently towards its base, giving the cup a sturdy, grounded look. At 0.086KG it is light in the hand, and the multicoloured decoration brings a little cheer to the first coffee of the day.

It belongs wherever the coffee is made: beside an espresso machine or a stovetop pot in the kitchen, on a breakfast tray, or at the end of a dinner when guests want a small coffee with dessert.
