Description

The Sendero is a wooden two-light pendant that hangs a long oval shade of slim wooden slats from an elongated ceiling plate on two fine cables. The body is steel in a satin nickel finish, and the shade is wood in a warm maple colour. It measures 77.5cm long and 25cm wide, with an overall height of 130cm. It takes two E27 bulbs of up to 60W each, which are not included, so you choose the colour and warmth of light yourself. It is rated IP20, which means it belongs indoors in a dry room.

We think its long, low shape is at its best over a dining table, where the two bulbs spread light along the length of the table rather than pooling in one spot. It sits just as comfortably above a sofa or a sideboard in a living room, giving a seating area a gentle glow. The slatted shade lets light through the gaps between the slats, so even when the bulbs are lit the wood stays the main event, soft and warm rather than glaring. It suits anyone after a natural, relaxed feel that sits easily alongside linen, wood and soft greys.

The body and ceiling plate are steel with a satin nickel finish, which has a soft sheen rather than a mirror shine and sits quietly against the maple colour of the wooden shade. There is no switch on the pendant itself, as it is switched at the wall. As a wired mains light, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download. Packed, it weighs 2.339KG. A practical tip from us: two warm white E27 bulbs bring out the honeyed tone of the wood best, and a soft, dry cloth keeps the slats free of dust.
