Description
The Knightsbridge 1-gang screwless grid faceplate is an 88mm square steel cover plate in matt white, designed to house a single grid module on the Knightsbridge modular grid system. The faceplate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame (GDS001F, sold separately) which fixes to the back box, meaning no screw heads are visible once installed.
Intended for residential, commercial and hospitality installations where switch and socket modules need to be configured in custom combinations, the grid system allows switches, dimmers, data ports, audio connections and other modules to be combined behind a single faceplate. The 1-gang faceplate accepts one standard Knightsbridge grid module width and projects just 3.5mm from the wall when fitted, giving a low-profile finish that sits almost flush with plasterwork.
The matt white finish is powder-coated onto premium-grade steel, providing a smooth, non-reflective surface that resists fingerprints better than gloss white finishes. The faceplate coordinates with the full Knightsbridge screwless switches and sockets range, allowing grid modules to match standalone switches elsewhere in the same room. The IP20 rating suits dry indoor locations, and the 25-year warranty covers manufacturing defects.

Frequently Asked
What grid module frame is needed?
The faceplate requires a GDS001F 1-gang grid frame (sold separately), which fixes to the back box and holds the grid module. The faceplate then clips onto the frame to hide the fixings.
What modules fit inside this faceplate?
Any single-width Knightsbridge grid module will fit, including switches, dimmers, USB charging modules, data sockets, TV/satellite outlets and audio connections. See the Knightsbridge grid system catalogue for the full module range.
Can the faceplate be removed after installation?
Yes. The screwless cover plate clips onto the grid frame and can be removed for redecorating or module changes without rewiring. The frame stays fixed to the back box.
Is the matt white finish resistant to yellowing?
The powder-coated steel finish is more resistant to UV yellowing than standard white plastics, though all white finishes may show minor tonal change over decades of exposure to strong natural light.
