Description

Clear crystal drops ring a round opal white glass diffuser, and the frame behind them is finished in antique brass, so the light comes through soft while the crystal picks up the sparkle. The shade measures 30cm across, which gives it presence on a sideboard or a wide bedside table without crowding the surface. A pair of E14 candle lamps sit inside, and an inline switch on the flex puts control within reach of the chair rather than across the room. With suitable lamps and a separate dimmer, the light can be taken down for the evening.

We reach for this one where a table lamp has to do more than fill a corner: a hall console that needs some glitter, a dressing table, the far end of a long sideboard in a dining room. It suits rooms with a bit of polish already in them, and it pairs happily either side of a bed or a mirror. We would fit warm white LED candle lamps of up to 10W each, which keeps the glass gentle and the crystal bright. Keep it to dry rooms indoors, well away from bathrooms and covered porches. We stock the same lamp in polished chrome if brass is not your metal.

The cut crystal is held clear against the brass frame, with the opal glass shade doing the work of spreading the light evenly rather than letting it glare. Dust with a soft dry brush or a cloth, and if fingermarks show on the crystal, use a little glass cleaner on the cloth rather than on the lamp, with the power off first. Yes. The range includes flush ceiling lights and wall lights in antique brass, plus polished chrome versions if you prefer a cooler metal.
