Sanvika 3 Light Organic Cluster Pendant Light - Green

The Sanvika is a cluster of three glass shades hung at three different heights from a single ceiling point, the lowest 132cm down. Each shade is a large ovoid in pale green glass, capped with a dark bronze fitting and suspended on a dark metal chain. The glass is dimpled rather than smooth, and the three are not one shape: one comes to a soft point, one is rounder, one is closer to a barrel. The shades are open at the base, so the bulb inside each is visible from below.

The drop decides where it goes. 132cm from the ceiling to the lowest shade suits a stairwell, an entrance hall or a double height room, where the cluster is seen from more than one level and the stagger reads as three separate lights rather than one object. In a room with an ordinary ceiling the lowest shade would hang down into the furniture. The three occupy 35.5cm across. Each takes an E14 bulb up to 15W and the fitting is dimmable. At 11.62kg it needs a fixing into a joist or a mount rated for the weight, which is worth settling before it arrives.

Each shade is blown individually from recycled glass into an organic mould, and mottling and tonal variation develop in the glass as it forms, so the depth of the green differs from one shade to the next. The caps and the suspension are iron. The fitting is rated IP20, for dry indoor rooms. Bulbs are not included.

Instruction Manual (PDF)

What ceiling height does it need?

Enough for 132cm of drop with clearance below. A stairwell or a double-height hall suits it; a standard room doesn't.

Is 15W the total?

Per bulb. Three E14s at up to 15W each, which together give a warm spread without any one glaring through the coloured glass.

What fixing does 11.62kg need?

A fixing into a joist or a mount rated for the weight. Settle it before the light arrives.

Are the three shades the same?

No. Each is blown into a mould individually and the mottling and depth of green vary between them.
