Description

A wool throw measuring 120 by 170cm, woven in fine horizontal stripes. A rust stripe broken into short dashes alternates with a plain cream one, and the pair repeats the whole length, so the throw reads cream from across a room and rust close to. Both of the shorter ends finish in a twisted cream fringe.

At 170cm along its longer side it will cover an adult lying on a sofa, and folded in three over the arm of a two seater it drops as far as the seat. On a double bed it crosses the foot rather than covering it. Over the arm of a sofa the fringe hangs clear of the cushion, which is where a throw this size sits: over one seat rather than across a whole sofa.

The yarn is wool throughout. It is dyed in Italy and woven in Portugal on small looms, then carded to lift the surface and washed with gentle softeners, which is what gives the face its slight nap. The Sanval range also holds wool cushion covers.
