Description

A super king bed frame built on solid mango wood, with a headboard upholstered in cotton standing 120cm from the floor. The cotton is a natural ground carrying a broken black stripe that runs down the headboard, and the base of the bed is a run of wooden slats. The frame measures 187.6cm across and 212.2cm long, and is rated to carry 450kg.

At 187.6cm this is the widest of the three Sanja beds; the Double and the King ask less of a wall. The frame runs 212.2cm from the back of the headboard to the foot, so a room has to give up that much floor before any walking space is counted around it. The headboard at 120cm is high enough to sit up against and high enough to read as the back of the bed from the doorway rather than disappearing behind pillows.

The frame is solid mango wood and the covered parts are cotton. Each bed is carved, upholstered and assembled by hand, the wood shaped with traditional tools and the headboard upholstered by hand over the frame. The wood carries a sealant from the workshop. The same bed is made in Double and King, and the wider Sanja range runs to an armchair, a bench and an ottoman.

Frequently Asked

How big is the frame?

187.6cm across and 212.2cm long.

How tall is the headboard?

120cm from the floor.

What is the headboard covered in?

Cotton, a natural ground with a broken black stripe running down it. The base of the bed is wooden slats.

Does it come in other sizes?

Yes. The same bed is made in Double and in King.

How much weight will it take?

450kg.

How do I look after it?

Wipe the wood regularly with a soft dry cloth, working along the grain, and use mild soap and water sparingly rather than letting water stand on it. Keep it out of strong direct sunlight, which fades the finish, and away from extremes of heat and humidity, which can crack and split the wood. Take any scratch or staining to a professional.
