Description

The Sangamo 72203NFC is a 2-channel 7-day astro time switch with NFC programming, mounted on a 2-module DIN rail housing. Each channel provides a volt-free 16A changeover contact for switching lighting circuits, heating zones, ventilation systems or other time-scheduled loads independently. The unit supports both fixed-time switching and astronomical switching that adjusts trigger times based on sunrise/sunset calculations for the installation location.

Designed for commercial lighting control, industrial automation and building management systems where independent control of two separate circuits is required, the time switch fits standard 35mm DIN rail in distribution boards and control panels. Programming is handled via NFC using an Android smartphone running Sangamo's free configuration app, removing the need for front-panel button navigation. The LCD screen displays current time, channel status and next scheduled event for both channels simultaneously.

The unit stores up to 56 memory locations across both channels, providing sufficient capacity for complex weekly schedules with different weekend and weekday timings. A 10-year lithium battery reserve maintains programming and timekeeping during mains power outages, so schedules continue to run once power is restored without requiring re-entry. The compact 2-module width (43mm) leaves space in the distribution board for additional control devices or circuit protection.

Astro switching adjusts the trigger time for programmed events based on calculated sunrise and sunset times for the installation's geographic location. This keeps outdoor lighting schedules aligned with natural daylight throughout the year without manual reprogramming. The NFC app allows you to set the location coordinates during setup.

What Android phones are compatible with NFC programming?

Any Android smartphone with NFC capability can program the unit using Sangamo's free configuration app. Hold the phone against the NFC logo on the front panel to establish a connection, then use the app to configure schedules, astro offsets and channel settings.

What is the contact rating for each channel?

Each channel provides a volt-free 16A changeover contact rated for switching resistive loads at 250V AC. For inductive loads (motors, transformers) the effective rating is lower and should be confirmed against the datasheet before connection.

How long does the battery reserve last?

The internal lithium battery provides a 10-year reserve, maintaining programming and timekeeping during mains power outages. The battery is non-replaceable, but the 10-year lifespan typically matches the service interval for industrial control equipment.
