Description
This is a set of ten pieces: a long, narrow tray in paulownia wood and nine brown glass tealight holders that stand in a row along it. No two holders are quite alike. Some are plain, some are ribbed, one has a faceted pattern and another a diamond pattern, and they differ in height and width, so the line has a gentle rise and fall. The whole set measures 56cm long, 14cm wide and 10cm tall and weighs 1.625KG, a size that fits a deep window sill, a mantelpiece or the middle of a table.
Because every holder lifts off the tray, the set works as one long display or as several small ones. Keep the tray down the centre of the dining table for a dinner party, then move a few holders to a coffee table or a bathroom shelf for a quieter evening. Along a sideboard or a hall console, a row of small flames gives the room a soft, cosy glow without the height of a candelabra. Coloured glass softens a tealight's flame and throws a warm tint onto the surface around it, which suits the darker months well. Between lightings, a taller holder can just as easily take a bundle of long matches or a few dried stems.
The holders are spray coloured glass, which gives each one its brown tint, and the tray is paulownia. Paulownia is a notably light timber with a fine, even grain. The tray sits flat and low, which keeps the eye on the holders rather than the wood. For styling, spread the plain and patterned holders along the tray instead of grouping them by type, so the flames pick out the ribbing and facets at different points. The styling props shown are not included.

Frequently Asked
What comes in the set?
The set is ten pieces: one long paulownia tray and nine brown glass tealight holders, each with its own shape and pattern. The styling props shown are not included.
How big is it?
The set measures 56cm long, 14cm wide and 10cm tall, and it weighs 1.625KG, so it suits a window sill, a mantelpiece or a dining table.
What materials are used?
The tealight holders are spray coloured glass, which gives them their brown tint, and the tray is paulownia, a notably light timber with a fine grain.
Can I use the holders without the tray?
Yes. Every holder is a separate piece, so you can lift them off and spread them around a room, or keep them together in a row along the tray.
Can the holders take anything besides tealights?
Between lightings, a taller holder can take a bundle of long matches or a few dried stems, so the set still looks finished when the candles are out.
