Description

Our Samsin mug is made from 100% stoneware in purple, with a raised pattern pressed into its surface: rows of short upright stripes run around the rim and the base, and between them sits a band of flowers on curving stems. The glaze settles lighter over the raised lines and deeper in the hollows between them, so the pattern reads by touch as well as by eye. It holds 150ml and stands 10cm tall and 8cm across, which makes it a smaller mug than most everyday ones: the right size for a short coffee, a flat white or a cup of tea drunk while it is hot.

It is food safe, so it belongs wherever drinks are made and taken: beside the kettle in the kitchen, on the breakfast table, or on a desk for the mid-morning coffee. A smaller measure suits anyone who likes a drink finished while it is still hot, and stoneware holds heat well. It also makes a thoughtful gift for a coffee drinker, and its purple body and raised flowers bring some colour to a table laid with plainer tableware.
