Description

Our Salino console table is a long, low run of open shelving in three tiers, carried on legs shaped like strings of rounded beads, a bobbin profile that runs from the top surface right down to the feet. It is 120cm long, 30cm wide and 80cm tall, made from 60% firwood and 40% MDF, and painted cream. A centre pair of legs splits each shelf into two open bays, so books, baskets and boxes each have their own place beneath the top.

At just 30cm deep, it stands close to the wall and leaves room to walk past, which makes it a natural fit for a hallway, a landing or the wall beside a staircase. Use the top for a lamp and a vase of flowers, the middle shelf for a stack of books and a dish for keys, and the bottom shelf for baskets holding post, gloves or scarves. The 120cm length fills a good stretch of bare wall without feeling heavy, because the open sides and back let the light through. It works just as well behind a sofa in a living room or as a low bookcase in a bedroom.
