Salino Wall Shelf 21.5cm - Cream

Our Salino wall shelf is a two-tier cream shelf made from 70% MDF and 30% firwood, finished in water based paint. Two flat boards are held apart by four posts, two at each end, each shaped into a run of soft, rounded swells that read like a small piece of balustrade. It measures 60cm long, 17cm wide and 21.5cm tall and weighs 3.1KG. That 17cm depth suits paperbacks, small framed prints, candles and trinkets rather than deep storage boxes, and the 60cm length leaves room for a small group of objects on each tier.

Because it hangs on the wall, it gives you two display surfaces without using any floor space, which makes it a good fit above a reading chair, a desk or a chest of drawers. In a living room the top board can carry a vase and a small ornament while the lower tier holds a short stack of books; in a bedroom it works as a slim spot for jewellery boxes, a candle and a favourite photograph; in a hallway it keeps small pots and a tray for keys off the console. The cream colour is soft rather than stark, so it sits comfortably on grey or warm white walls and next to pale wood and textured fabrics.

The whole piece, boards and posts alike, carries the same water based paint finish, so the cream is even from end to end.
