Description
This is a long, slim console table in mango wood, 168cm long, 43cm wide and 80cm tall, with a brown lacquered finish that lets the grain show through. Two levels do the work: a flat top with a low raised edge running all the way round, and a lower shelf framed on every side by a rail of evenly spaced spindles. Six legs carry it, one at each corner and one at the centre of each long side, each finishing in a small turned foot. At 80cm tall it stands at a comfortable height for setting down keys, post or a table lamp.
At 43cm wide it is slim enough to stand in a hallway without crowding the way through, and its 168cm length gives a generous run of surface along a wall, behind a sofa or beneath a window in a living room. The top takes a lamp, a few books and a vase or two, while the lower shelf is the place for baskets, stacked books and potted plants, with the spindle rail keeping them tidy and in view. It suits anyone who likes furniture with a slightly traditional, turned-wood look and wants storage they can see at a glance.
The top, frame and legs are all mango wood, a timber whose grain shifts from board to board, and you can see those changes across the surface. The lacquered finish keeps care simple: wipe it clean with a moist cloth. It weighs 23KG, so it feels settled once it is in place, and the maker's assembly instructions come as a PDF download. For styling, keep the top fairly spare and let the lower shelf carry the busier things, a row of baskets or a few trailing plants, so the spindles and turned legs still read clearly. The styling props shown are not included.
