Description

This is a wall shelf and hanging rail in one: a brown shelf with an iron rail running beneath its top, between the two side panels, and two S-shaped hooks that hang from the rail. It is made from MDF and iron, and measures 46cm long, 11.5cm wide and 10cm tall, so it reads as a slim, low ledge on the wall rather than a bulky unit. The top gives you a narrow surface for display, while the rail underneath takes things that hang, which is what makes this piece more useful than a plain shelf of the same length.

Hallways and kitchens are where we see it working hardest. By a front door, the hooks take keys, a dog lead or a light tote bag, with a small plant or a framed print on top. On a kitchen wall it keeps a tea towel close to hand on the rail. In a bedroom or a study it can hold a scarf, a pair of headphones or a bag beneath a few favourite books.
