Description

These are tapered dinner candles in a mellow rust, sold in pairs. Each one is 20.5cm long and 2cm across at the base, narrowing steadily to the wick. The wax is poured by hand into moulds, so the surface keeps a slight texture and the odd dip and ripple across it rather than coming out smooth.

They were made for candle holders that take a tapered candle, and a holder is not included. The intention is an evening table. At 20.5cm they stand well clear of plates and glasses, and the rust reads as a warm mid brown red.

The wax is a blend of soy and paraffin, poured by hand in small batches in India, which is where the textured surface comes from. The Rustic dinner candle is made in six colours: rust, white, charcoal, olive green, sage green and dark cherry. The same wax goes into pillar candles across the range, from a mini at 8cm up to a large at 18cm.

Frequently Asked

How many candles come in a set?

Two.

How long are they?

20.5cm, and 2cm across at the base.

Is a candle holder included?

No. They were made for holders that take a tapered candle, and those are sold separately.

What is the wax?

A blend of soy and paraffin wax, poured by hand in small batches in India.

How should they be burned?

Always burn a candle within sight, and never leave one unattended. Do not move it while it is lit or until the wax has hardened. Trim the wick to 0.6cm for the best results and do not burn for more than four hours at a time. Keep the candle free of matches, soot and anything else that falls into it, keep it away from flammable materials, and stand it on a heat resistant, non porous surface, as it may drip.
