Description
A mini pillar candle in sage green, 8cm tall and 7cm across, poured from a blend of soy and paraffin wax. The surface is pitted and pocked where the wax cooled against the mould, so the green reads paler on the raised ground and deeper in the hollows, and no two come out of the mould alike. A single wick stands at the centre.
At 8cm tall this is the mini of the rustic pillars, small enough for a windowsill, a shelf edge or a crowded side table where a full-height pillar would be in the way. It stands without a holder. A shallow bowl under it catches wax where it runs over the side. Grouped, they suit a mantelpiece or the middle of a table; on its own, 8cm of candle is easily lost on a wide surface.
The wax is a soy and paraffin blend, poured by hand into moulds in small batches in India, and the pitting on the surface comes from that rather than from anything applied afterwards. This mini size is also made in olive, rust, charcoal, white and dark cherry. No holder is included.

Frequently Asked
How big is it?
8cm tall and 7cm across.
What is the wax?
A soy and paraffin blend, hand poured in small batches.
How long should it burn for?
No more than four hours at a time. On the first burn give it about an hour for every inch of its diameter, which at 7cm across is a little under three hours, so the melt pool reaches the edge and the candle does not tunnel down the middle.
Does it need a holder?
It stands on its own, but burn it on a non-porous, heat-resistant dish. The wax can run over the side.
How do I stop it sooting?
Trim the wick to 0.6cm before you light it. A long wick burns unevenly and throws soot.
Is there anything else to watch?
Keep it in sight while it is lit and never leave it burning unattended. Do not move it until the wax has hardened, keep matches and anything else out of the wax, and keep it away from anything that will catch.
