Description

A pillar candle 18cm tall and 10cm across, poured in a soy wax blend and left rough on the outside rather than finished smooth. The surface is faintly pitted all over, the way plaster is. The top is flat with a single wick set in the middle, and the white is a soft one, nearer a plaster tone than a bright white.

At 18cm tall and 10cm across this is the large of three pillar sizes, and it was made for holders proportioned to take a wide candle rather than a taper. It stands on a sideboard or a mantelpiece, or down the middle of a laid table, where at 18cm the flame sits below the eye line of anyone sitting at it.

The wax is a blend of soy and paraffin, poured by hand into moulds in small batches, which is where the rough outside comes from. The same candle is made in charcoal, olive green, rust, sage green and dark cherry, and in a small and a mini size as well as this large one. No holder is included.

Trim the wick to 0.6cm and burn it for no more than four hours at a time.
