Description

A pillar candle 18cm tall and 10cm across, hand poured in a soy wax blend and coloured a deep dark cherry. The surface is left rough: the wax has pulled and marbled as it set, so the sides carry shallow pits and paler veins running through the colour rather than an even face. A single wick sits at the centre of the flat top.

At 18cm this is the large pillar of the two, and it was made for the candle holders in the range that take a wider candle. It will stand on a sideboard or a mantelpiece, in a living room or a hallway, or in the middle of a laid table.

The wax is a soy blend with paraffin, hand poured into moulds in small batches by local makers, which is where the rough surface comes from, and the colour goes in with the pour rather than onto the outside. The same candle is made in a small size, 15cm tall and 8cm across.
