This is a set of four cream stoneware mugs, each painted by hand with a flowing floral motif of leafy sprigs, small blossoms and dotted stems that runs across the body. Each mug holds 400ml and measures 11cm across and 9cm tall, so it is a generous mug rather than a dainty teacup, with room for a large tea with milk, a big morning coffee or a hot chocolate. The rounded bowl sits on a raised foot, a full loop handle gives a comfortable grip, and a painted band picks out both the rim and the foot.
