Romane Stoneware Vases Set of 3 - Blue

This is a set of three handpainted stoneware vases, each a different shape with its own blue pattern. The tallest is 26cm tall and 10cm across, with a slim, straight body covered in columns of short vertical strokes. The two shorter vases are both 15.5cm tall: one is a squat cylinder painted with rows of brushed blocks, the other a rounded, bulbous form ringed with bold blue circles and raised on a short blue foot. One of the pair is 11.5cm across and the other 12cm across. All three share a deep blue collar neck at the top, which ties them together however you arrange them.

Grouped as a trio, they sit well on a mantelpiece, a sideboard, a windowsill or the centre of a dining table, where the change in height keeps the eye moving. Separated, a single vase on a bookshelf or a bedside table brings a touch of blue to a quieter spot. The short collar necks suit a single stem, a sprig of dried grass or a few slim branches, and the vases look just as good empty.
