Rokiya Dotted Terracotta Plant Pot - White

This wide, round plant pot is made of terracotta in white, its surface covered in rows of raised dots that stand proud like studs. It measures 27.5cm across and 20cm tall and tapers from a broad rim to a narrower foot, so it reads more as a generous bowl than a tall pot. That width is the point: there is room for a spreading plant, a cluster of small succulents or a trailing variety that likes to spill over the rim. At 3.6KG it has real weight, so it is a pot to settle in one spot rather than move around every week.

Put it where a plant earns its place: a sideboard in the living room, a hall console, a low table by a window or the corner of a bedroom. The dots catch light from the side, so a spot near a window or beside a lamp shows the texture best. Its low, wide shape works well on a surface at or below eye level, where you look down onto the leaves and across the pattern. It suits anyone who prefers an earthy, textured pot to a smooth glossy one, and it sits well with ferns, pothos, a peace lily or a clutch of cacti.

The body is 100% terracotta under a rough, matt white surface. Look closely and you will see faint drips running down between the dots and a glimpse of bare terracotta at the foot, which gives the pot a weathered character. Terracotta is a porous clay, so we would keep your plant in its plastic nursery pot and lower it into this one; watering is simpler and you can swap plants without repotting. For styling, keep the planting plain: one plant with strong, simple leaves sets off the dotted surface better than a busy mix, and the white looks crisp against wood, linen or a darker painted wall.
