Description
The Knightsbridge RJ45 network outlet provides a single shuttered CAT5e Ethernet port behind an antique brass square-edge faceplate. The IDC (insulation displacement connector) terminals accept standard twisted-pair network cable without requiring stripping or soldering, and Knightsbridge includes the termination tool with the outlet. A write-on designation label behind the faceplate allows installers to mark which room or device the port connects to.
Designed for residential and light commercial installations where wired Ethernet is needed at fixed points — home offices, AV cabinets, wall-mounted smart TVs, network printers, or gaming console positions. The outlet fits a standard 35mm minimum back box and the square-edge design includes a built-in gasket to seal against the wall surface, reducing dust ingress. Certified to BS 5733 for compliance with UK wiring standards.
The antique brass finish is a darker, aged-looking brass with subdued patina tones that pair well with period interiors, heritage restorations and warm traditional colour schemes. The premium-grade steel construction provides durability under repeated cable insertion and removal, and the shutter mechanism on the RJ45 port prevents dust accumulation when not in use. The faceplate measures 89mm square with a 10.5mm projection from the wall once installed.

Frequently Asked
What category Ethernet cable does it support?
This outlet is rated for CAT5e cabling, which supports Gigabit Ethernet (1000BASE-T) at speeds up to 1 Gbps over distances up to 100m. It will also work with CAT6 cable if already installed, though the outlet itself remains CAT5e rated.
Is the termination tool included?
Yes. Knightsbridge includes the IDC termination tool needed to connect twisted-pair cable to the outlet's terminals. The IDC system pushes the cable into the terminal block without requiring wire stripping.
What back box depth is required?
A 35mm minimum mounting box depth is required. The faceplate adds 10.5mm of projection from the wall once fitted, giving a total depth of approximately 45mm from the wall surface to the back of the box.
What other finishes are available in this range?
Knightsbridge produces this RJ45 outlet style in multiple finishes including polished chrome, brushed chrome, polished brass, matt black and white. Use the search function or filters to find other variants in stock at Niori.
