Description

A glass star 15cm tall, finished in silver over a worn surface that reads soft rather than mirror bright. The sparkle is not glitter. Chips of recycled glass are pressed onto the outside of the star, and they pick up light in small separate points rather than as one even sheet, so the surface shifts as it turns.

This is the smaller of the two sizes the star is made in. At 15cm it is bigger than an ordinary bauble, so it holds a branch on its own near the front of a tree rather than sitting in a group, and it hangs as readily from a garland, a bannister or a window as it does from a tree. At just over half a kilogram it is heavy for a tree decoration, so it wants a hook or a strong branch rather than a wire tip.

The star is recycled glass and is made by hand, so the depth of the silver and the spread of the glass chips differ from one star to the next. The Riyara range also runs a set of four baubles and two sizes of tealight holder in the same silver sparkle.

Frequently Asked

How big is the small Riyara star?

15cm tall.

Is the sparkle glitter?

No. Chips of recycled glass are pressed onto the surface instead, which is what catches the light.

What is it made from?

Recycled glass.

What sizes are made?

Two. This small one and a large one.

How do I look after it?

Wipe away any dust with a dry, soft cloth and handle it carefully. Keep harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners off the finish. It is for indoor use only.
