Description

A giant star bauble made by hand from recycled glass, 20cm tall, 20cm wide and 8cm deep. The surface is silver with a gently worn look and a subtle shine. Its sparkle comes from chips of recycled glass pressed onto the surface in place of glitter, so it catches the light without overpowering the piece. One bauble is supplied.

It is made for trees, garlands and seasonal centrepieces. At 20cm across and 0.725kg it needs room around it and a branch thick enough to take the weight, so it belongs lower on a tree where the wood is heavier rather than out at the tips. Hung on its own from a beam or a handrail it reads as a single piece rather than one of a set, and on a mantelpiece or a table it can sit at the centre of an arrangement of greenery. It is made for indoor use.

The bauble is recycled glass, worked by hand by glassmakers, and the sparkle is chips of recycled glass pressed onto the surface as it is finished rather than glitter laid over it. Because each one is finished by hand, no two carry the sparkle in quite the same places.
