Description

The Ring II is a 74cm LED suspension light built from intersecting curved metal and aluminium bands in a sanded matte black finish, with clear acrylic segments that house an integrated 43W 3000K LED. The looping geometry forms an abstract sculptural shape that changes appearance depending on viewing angle, creating visual interest from different positions in a room.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and open-plan living areas with ceiling heights between 2.7m and 3.6m, the Ring II provides ambient light through the clear acrylic diffusers while the matte black frame remains in silhouette. The adjustable suspension wires allow the drop to be set anywhere between 50cm and 130cm during installation, letting the pendant sit 700-900mm above a dining table or kitchen island surface. The 43W LED delivers 2,150 lumens at 3000K with a CRI above 80, providing warm white light with accurate colour rendering.

The matte black finish is applied through a sanding process that gives a consistent low-sheen surface without the reflective quality of gloss black, making the pendant less visually dominant in daylight while still creating strong definition under artificial light. At 3.47kg the fitting has substantial presence but remains within the load capacity of standard UK ceiling roses. The IP20 rating limits the Ring II to dry indoor environments — dining rooms, living rooms, bedrooms and hallways, not bathrooms or outdoor spaces.

The integrated LED can be dimmed if paired with a compatible trailing-edge or TRIAC dimmer. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific model — Schuller recommend testing with your chosen dimmer before full installation, as not all dimmers on the UK market handle 43W LED loads smoothly.

What ceiling height does it need?

The adjustable suspension wires allow drops between 50cm and 130cm. For a dining table the pendant typically sits 70-90cm above the surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above. Lower ceilings can accommodate the fitting at the minimum 50cm drop, though this positions the pendant closer to head height.

Can the suspension wires be shortened after installation?

The wires are adjustable during installation but not designed for frequent re-adjustment once the pendant is wired and fixed. If you need to change the drop height later, the pendant must be isolated, lowered and re-adjusted at the canopy.

What rooms is the Ring II suitable for?

The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor spaces. It suits dining rooms, living rooms, open-plan kitchen-diners, bedrooms and hallways. It is not rated for bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor use.
