Description

This stoneware pedestal bowl stands 22cm tall on its own twisted base, so whatever it holds sits well above the table. The bowl is 24.5cm across and holds 1400ml, a generous size for a good heap of fruit. Outside, it is a deep, glossy blue; inside, the colour softens to a lighter blue scattered with dots painted by hand. The spiralled pedestal is the part people notice first, turning like a stick of barley sugar from the foot up to the underside of the bowl.

It is approved for food, so it earns its place as a fruit bowl on the kitchen worktop or the dining table, where lemons, oranges or grapes look their best at that height.
