The 1cm thickness gives sufficient mass to stay in place when a glass is lifted, reducing slippage on polished wood or marble surfaces.

The ochre reactive glaze produces warm brown, amber and caramel tones with occasional darker mottling where the glaze pools during firing. The 11cm diameter accommodates most standard mug bases (typically 7-9cm) and wine glass bases (typically 6-8cm) with margin to spare. Very large cappuccino cups or oversized mugs may overhang slightly.
