Description

The Ravello is a 25cm marble candle holder built from two opposing cones: a white alabaster upper section that holds the candle, and a black marble base, joined by twin brass collars at the centre. The hourglass form weighs 2.68kg, giving the piece a substantial table presence and keeping it stable when a lit candle sits in the top cone.

Designed for dining tables, console tables, mantels and side tables where decorative candle lighting is used occasionally, the Ravello works as a centrepiece on its own or in pairs flanking a mirror or between servingware. The 10cm square footprint means multiple holders can be grouped without crowding a typical 80-120cm table width. The white cone accepts standard pillar candles or tealights depending on how the candle is seated.

The natural marble shows different veining and tonal variation between pieces — the white section may carry pale grey or beige mineral striations, while the black base shows lighter grey inclusions depending on which part of the quarried block each cone was cut from. The brass collar provides a warm metallic accent between the contrasting stone tones and conceals the join line. Both marble surfaces are polished to a low sheen that catches ambient light without creating harsh reflections.

The white marble cone at the top holds standard pillar candles or large tealights. The internal diameter of the cone opening accommodates candles up to approximately 6-7cm diameter.

Does the marble vary between pieces?

Yes. Both the white and black marble sections are cut from natural stone, so the veining, mineral inclusions and exact colour tone differ between individual holders. This is a characteristic of the material, not a defect.

How is the marble cleaned?

Wipe with a dry, soft microfibre cloth to remove dust. For candle wax drips, let the wax harden fully, then gently scrape away with a plastic card edge. Avoid soaking the marble or using household chemical cleaners, which can stain porous stone.

Can it be used outdoors?

The Ravello is designed for indoor use. Marble is porous and will absorb moisture if left outdoors, leading to staining and potential cracking in freeze-thaw cycles. Keep it on covered indoor surfaces only.
