Description

The Rasan is a lamp base built as a metal globe from bands of sheet bent by hand and welded together, and the welds are left showing: two ridges of beaded metal run right round the sphere, one above the middle and one below. The antique brass finish is uneven over them, brighter where the sphere turns toward the light and darker down in the seams. A flat disc caps the top, then a brass collar and a black lampholder. It is 25.5cm tall and 21cm across.

This is a base only: no shade and no bulb. At 25.5cm tall and 21cm across it is a small, low base, which suits a bedside table or a narrow side table where a taller base would put the shade above eye level. It takes one E27 bulb up to 60W, the cord runs 2.5m, the plug is UK and EU, and it is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms.

The base is iron under an antique brass finish. The panels are bent by hand and the welds are not ground back, so the seams run differently on every globe. Neither a shade nor a bulb is included.
