Description

A dining chair, 78cm tall, in black. At 55cm wide it is a little narrower than a standard interior door. Dining chairs are bought in fours and sixes, so the things that matter are the ones that repeat: whether they stack against a wall when you need the floor, whether they tuck fully under the table, and whether one can be lifted with one hand while the other holds a plate.

Dark surfaces show dust and light surfaces show marks. Which is the easier problem depends entirely on the room, and dust is usually the easier one. Beech is the traditional chair timber for a mechanical reason: the grain is tight and even in every direction, so a leg turned from it does not have a weak axis the way an open-grained wood does.

The seat sits at 45cm, which suits a 74 to 76cm table. It is rated to 120kg. Arms at 73cm clear most table aprons. It arrives assembled.
