The QTX UVB-9 is a 510mm ultraviolet LED bar fitted with nine 3W UV LEDs operating at 410nm wavelength, creating a blacklight effect that makes fluorescent materials and white fabrics glow under the beam. The 65° beam angle from each LED provides wide coverage across stages, dancefloors and installation spaces without needing multiple units for small-to-medium areas.

Designed for nightclubs, stage productions, bowling alleys, themed events and installation art where UV effect is needed, the bar runs on standard 220-240Vac mains with a 3A fuse rating and draws 30W at full output. The metal housing measures 510 x 60 x 50mm and weighs 0.8kg, with bracket mounting points at each end for rigging to truss, T-bar stands or wall-mounting. The plug-and-play design requires no DMX controller or additional driver — connect to mains and the LEDs operate at full output.

The 410nm wavelength sits at the upper end of the UV-A spectrum, producing a visible violet-blue glow while still exciting fluorescent pigments in posters, paints, fabrics and certain plastics. This wavelength is safer for prolonged exposure than shorter UV wavelengths used in curing or sterilisation, though direct eye contact with the LEDs should still be avoided. LED UV bars outlast traditional UV tubes by a significant margin and eliminate the fragility and warm-up time associated with fluorescent UV lighting.

What wavelength UV does this produce?

The UVB-9 operates at 410nm, which sits at the upper end of the UV-A spectrum. This wavelength produces a visible violet-blue glow and excites fluorescent materials, making whites and neon colours fluoresce under the beam. It is safer for prolonged exposure than shorter UV wavelengths used in curing applications.

Does it need a DMX controller?

No. The UVB-9 is a plug-and-play unit that runs at full output when connected to mains power. It does not support DMX control or dimming — the LEDs operate at 100% output whenever powered on.

What area does it cover?

The 65° beam angle from each LED provides wide coverage. A single bar at 2-3m height typically covers a 3-4m wide area with usable UV effect. Multiple bars can be daisy-chained or positioned in parallel for larger stages or dancefloors.

How is it mounted?

The bar has bracket mounting points at each end, allowing it to be rigged to lighting truss, clamped to T-bar stands, or wall-mounted using appropriate fixings. The 0.8kg weight is light enough for most standard truss clamps and brackets.
