QTX Mini LED Strobe - Battery Powered

The QTX Mini is a battery-powered LED strobe housed in a 134g ABS plastic case with an adjustable mounting bracket. Two ultra-bright white LEDs behind a faceted lens produce a sharp strobe flash at rates adjustable from 0 to 10 flashes per second via a rotary control on the rear panel. The unit runs on four AA batteries (not supplied), giving portable strobe capability without mains power.

Designed for mobile DJs, small venue events, house parties and portable stage effects where a compact, lightweight strobe is needed without trailing cables. The adjustable bracket allows the unit to be floor-mounted pointing upwards, wall-mounted, or hung from a lighting stand or truss using the integrated carry handle. The 52 x 95 x 130mm footprint sits on a tabletop or small speaker stand without occupying significant space.

The rotary flash rate control gives continuous adjustment rather than stepped presets, allowing the strobe to be dialled in to match music tempo or to create specific visual effects. The two-LED configuration produces a brighter output than single-LED budget strobes while keeping power draw low enough to run several hours on fresh alkaline AA batteries. Ventilation slots on the top panel prevent heat build-up during extended operation.

What batteries does it take and how long do they last?

The strobe requires four AA batteries (not included). Battery life depends on flash rate and battery quality — expect 3-5 hours of continuous use on fresh alkaline AAs at moderate flash rates. Rechargeable NiMH AAs work but give slightly shorter run time.

Can the flash rate be synchronised to music?

No. The flash rate is manually adjusted via the rear rotary control and does not respond to sound or music input. You set the rate by hand to match the tempo you want.

How bright is the strobe compared to mains-powered units?

The two-LED configuration is brighter than single-LED battery strobes but less intense than mains-powered xenon or high-power LED strobes. It works well in small to medium-sized dark rooms but will not cut through strong stage lighting or daylight.

Can it be mounted upside down or at an angle?

Yes. The adjustable bracket allows the strobe to be positioned at any angle. The carry handle doubles as a hanging point for truss or overhead mounting.
