Description
The QTX IP65 par can houses seven 15W RGBWA LEDs inside a weatherproof die-cast aluminium housing rated to IP65, allowing outdoor installation in exposed locations. Each LED combines red, green, blue, white and amber chips in a single emitter, producing smooth colour mixing across the full spectrum without the colour fringing that occurs with separate RGB channels. The 45° beam angle suits architectural wall washing, stage backlighting and event uplighting where coverage matters more than tight focus.
The fixture operates in four modes: DMX512 control over 5 or 9 channels, sound-activated mode responding to music, master/slave mode where one fixture triggers others, and standalone auto mode cycling through pre-programmed colour sequences. All connections. Mains power in and out, DMX in and out. Use weatherproof locking connectors pre-fitted with IP-rated cables, allowing multiple units to be daisy-chained without additional cable runs. The split bracket allows the par can to be mounted on truss, clamped to a stand, or set on the ground as an uplight.
The IP65 rating means the housing resists dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction, making it suitable for outdoor festivals, garden events, building facades and marquee structures where rain or condensation is expected. The die-cast aluminium body includes cooling fins to dissipate heat from the 100W maximum power draw, maintaining LED lifespan under continuous operation. At 3.14kg the fixture is heavy enough to resist wind movement when ground-mounted but light enough for single-person rigging on overhead truss.

Frequently Asked
Can this be used outdoors in the rain?
Yes. The IP65 rating means the housing resists dust and low-pressure water jets from any direction, making it suitable for outdoor events and installations where exposure to rain is expected. All power and DMX connections use weatherproof locking connectors.
What's the difference between 5-channel and 9-channel DMX mode?
In 5-channel mode each channel controls one colour (red, green, blue, white, amber). In 9-channel mode additional channels control dimmer, strobe speed, colour macros and other effects. See the manual for the exact channel assignment.
How many units can be daisy-chained?
The fixture includes power out and DMX out connectors, allowing multiple units to be linked. Maximum units per chain depends on the total power draw and the capacity of the supply circuit. At 100W each, a 13A UK socket can support around 30 units before approaching the circuit limit.
Does it include a mounting clamp?
The split bracket allows floor-standing or truss-mounting. A separate lighting clamp (such as a hook clamp or half-coupler) is required to attach the bracket to truss and is sold separately.
