Description

The QTX 6x30W RGB LED Par Can houses six 30-watt RGB chip-on-board LEDs behind a matt black aluminium housing, delivering 1220lux at 2 metres with a 60-degree beam angle. Each COB LED integrates red, green and blue diodes onto a single substrate, allowing smooth colour mixing across the full RGB spectrum without visible individual beams or hotspots.

Designed for stage backdrops, small-to-medium live music venues, mobile DJs and event spaces, the par can operates via four-channel DMX512, sound-activated auto programs, master-slave synchronisation, or the included IR remote control. The 3 or 7-channel DMX modes support RGB colour mixing, strobe effects and master dimming. Auto programs cycle through pre-programmed colour chases and fades, with speed adjustable via the remote or rear panel controls. Sound activation triggers colour changes and strobing in time with detected audio peaks.

The housing measures 250mm diameter by 100mm deep and weighs 1.5kg, allowing floor placement on the included kickstand legs or overhead rigging via the twin hanging bracket slots. The 60-degree beam angle provides wide wash coverage — one fixture illuminates approximately 2.1m width at 2m throw distance. The 100-240Vac universal power supply accepts both UK and international mains voltages via the rear IEC socket, with daisy-chain power-out for linking multiple fixtures on a single mains run.

Frequently Asked

Can this be controlled without a DMX desk?

Yes. The par can includes an IR remote control for standalone operation, plus auto programs that cycle through colour chases and fades. Sound activation mode triggers colour changes in time with detected audio. DMX is optional for integration into larger lighting rigs.

What mounting options are available?

The fixture sits on fold-out kickstand legs for floor placement, or can be rigged overhead using the twin hanging bracket slots. The bracket accepts standard lighting clamps and truss hooks (sold separately).

How many fixtures can be daisy-chained on one mains run?

At 200W maximum draw per fixture, a standard UK 13A circuit (3,120W total) supports up to 15 par cans daisy-chained via the rear power-out sockets. In practice, most users limit chains to 8-10 fixtures to avoid voltage drop on long cable runs.

What's the difference between 3-channel and 7-channel DMX modes?

3-channel mode controls red, green and blue intensity separately. 7-channel mode adds master dimming, strobe rate, strobe intensity and macro effect channels for more complex programming via a DMX desk. Both modes are selectable via the rear panel menu.
