The QTX 756.927UK is a 6.3mm mono jack plug to 3.5mm mono jack socket adaptor that converts standard quarter-inch unbalanced mono outputs to accept 3.5mm mini jack inputs. The adaptor features a nickel-plated 6.3mm male plug on one end and a 3.5mm female socket on the other, allowing connection between mismatched audio equipment.

Designed for mono audio applications including instrument amplifiers, DJ mixers, PA systems and guitar effects pedals, the adaptor suits situations where a 3.5mm source (such as a portable audio player or compact audio interface) needs to connect to a 6.3mm input on amplifiers or mixing desks. The mono configuration carries a single unbalanced audio signal with no left/right channel separation.

The compact inline design adds minimal length to the cable run, and the nickel-plated contacts resist oxidation during storage. The adaptor handles line-level and instrument-level signals but is not intended for speaker-level or high-current applications.

What's the difference between mono and stereo adaptors?

Mono adaptors carry a single audio channel on one conductor plus ground. Stereo adaptors carry left and right channels on two separate conductors plus ground. This adaptor is mono only and will not pass stereo signals.

Can this be used with headphones?

Only if the headphones and source are both mono. Using this adaptor with stereo headphones or a stereo source will result in audio playing on one side only, as the adaptor does not combine stereo channels into mono.

Is it suitable for microphones?

The adaptor can physically connect a 3.5mm microphone to a 6.3mm input, but check that both the microphone and input use the same impedance and signal type. Dynamic microphones typically work, but powered microphones requiring plug-in power may not be compatible without additional circuitry.
