Description

The QTX 24-channel mini DMX controller is a desktop lighting control unit with six channel faders, dual LED displays showing channel number and DMX value, and a four-page selector that divides the 24 channels into manageable banks. Each slider controls one DMX channel at a time, with the page buttons switching between channels 1-6, 7-12, 13-18 and 19-24. A master fader on the right-hand side sets overall output level across all active channels.

Designed for smaller stage productions, mobile DJs, function rooms and architectural installations where basic DMX control is needed without a full-size console, the controller operates DMX fixtures including LED PARs, moving heads, wash lights and dimmer packs. The blackout button cuts all DMX output instantly without needing to pull down individual faders. The 210 x 100mm footprint sits on a desk or table-edge without needing rackmount installation.

The unit runs on 12Vdc via the included power supply and outputs standard DMX512 protocol over a 3-pin XLR connection on the rear panel. The dual LED displays show three-digit DMX values (000-255) and two-digit channel numbers, making it easier to dial in precise levels when programming scenes or adjusting individual fixture attributes. At 762g the controller is portable enough to move between venues without needing a flight case.

Frequently Asked

How many fixtures can this control?

That depends on how many DMX channels each fixture uses. A simple RGB LED PAR typically uses 3 channels (red, green, blue), so the 24 channels can control up to 8 RGB fixtures. A moving head might use 12-16 channels, so you'd control 1-2 moving heads. Check each fixture's DMX channel footprint in its manual.

Does it save scenes or programs?

No. The QTX 24-channel mini controller is a live fader-based controller without scene memory or chase programming. The fader positions you set are output to the DMX line in real time. For scene storage you'd need a controller with built-in memory banks.

What's the difference between the page selector and the master fader?

The page selector switches which set of 6 channels the six sliders control (page 1 = channels 1-6, page 2 = channels 7-12, etc.). The master fader scales the overall output of all active channels simultaneously, acting as a global dimmer.

What's in the box?

The controller unit and a 12Vdc 1000mA power supply. DMX cables are sold separately — you'll need a 3-pin XLR cable to connect the controller to your first DMX fixture.
