Description

The PowerMaster round bulkhead is an outdoor wall or ceiling light built around a black polypropylene base, a prismatic glass lens and a protective black metal cage. The fitting accepts an E27 ES bulb (sold separately) and carries an IP44 rating for protection against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction.

Designed for covered outdoor locations such as porches, garage entrances, back door canopies and carports, the bulkhead mounts to standard wall or soffit surfaces using the integral backplate. The protective cage guards the glass lens against impacts from ladders, equipment and general outdoor activity. The prismatic pattern moulded into the glass lens diffuses light evenly across the coverage area rather than creating a concentrated hotspot.

The black polypropylene construction resists UV degradation and temperature cycling better than painted metal alternatives, maintaining appearance over years of outdoor exposure. The 0.8kg weight gives the fitting substance without requiring heavy-duty fixings. The IP44 rating makes it suitable for bathroom zones 1, 2 and 3 (but not zone 0), as well as general outdoor use where the fitting is under an overhang or canopy rather than fully exposed to direct rainfall.

Can it be used in direct rain?

The IP44 rating protects against splashing water from any direction, making it suitable for covered outdoor areas like porches and canopies. For fully exposed locations subject to driving rain, consider an IP65 or IP66 rated fitting instead.

Is the protective cage removable for bulb changes?

Yes. The cage typically unscrews or unclips from the base to allow access to the bulb holder and glass lens. Consult the fitting instructions for the specific removal method on this model.

What zones is it rated for?
