Description
The PowerMaster tamper-proof bulkhead casing is a 205mm circular housing rated IP65, designed to hold 8W bulkhead LED modules in outdoor installations where vandalism or impact damage is a risk. The casing pairs an ABS base with a polycarbonate diffuser and uses tamper-resistant fixings that require specialist tools to remove, making unauthorised access or removal more difficult.
Intended for commercial premises, residential communal areas, public pathways, stairwells, car parks and sheltered outdoor zones where standard bulkhead fittings are vulnerable to damage, the casing protects the internal LED module from both environmental exposure and deliberate interference. The IP65 rating provides dust-tight sealing and protection against low-pressure water jets from any direction, making the fitting suitable for UK outdoor conditions including rain, coastal spray and windblown dust.
The polycarbonate diffuser softens and spreads light from the 8W module across approximately 180 degrees, creating even illumination without harsh shadows or bright spots. The white ABS base reflects upwards of 85% of light back through the diffuser rather than absorbing it into the housing. At 205mm diameter the casing fits standard UK bulkhead mounting boxes and back plates, and the 0.2kg weight allows installation on typical exterior wall substrates including brick, render, concrete block and timber cladding.

Frequently Asked
What does tamper-proof mean in this context?
The casing uses fixings that require a specialist tool to remove, making it more difficult to unscrew or prise open compared to standard bulkhead fittings secured with exposed Phillips or slotted screws. This reduces the risk of vandalism or theft in public and communal areas.
Can this be used in bathrooms?
The IP65 rating and bathroom zone compatibility (Zones 1, 2 and 3) mean the casing can be used in bathrooms, but not in Zone 0 (the interior of a bath or shower tray itself). Typical installations are above showers, in steam rooms, or on external bathroom walls.
Does the 8W refer to the casing or the bulb?
The 8W rating refers to the LED module the casing is designed to house. The casing itself is an empty housing — the 8W bulkhead LED module is sold separately and fits inside.
What colour is the light output?
The casing is a housing only and does not contain a light source. The colour temperature and brightness depend on the 8W LED module fitted inside, which is sold separately.
