Description

The PowerMaster 6ft 40W LED emergency batten combines a 5200-lumen integrated LED strip with a 3-hour emergency backup function, housed in a white steel body with an opal polycarbonate diffuser. In mains operation the batten delivers 40W at 4000K cool white across a 120-degree beam angle; in emergency mode it switches to a 1.5-2W low-output state that maintains visibility for up to 3 hours during power outages.

Designed for offices, retail back-of-house areas, corridors and plant rooms where emergency lighting is mandated, the batten fits a screwless hinged bracket that clips onto the body after the bracket is fixed to the ceiling. The quick-fit push terminals accept standard UK mains cable without requiring a screwdriver, reducing installation time on multi-unit projects. The 1800mm length suits spaces with 2.4-2.7m ceiling heights where uniform light distribution is needed across the width of a corridor or the depth of an office.

The opal diffuser gives an even light spread without visible LED hotspots, and the batten is rated IP20 for indoor dry locations and IK06 for impact resistance against accidental knocks. The steel housing dissipates heat without requiring ventilation slots, so the batten can be surface-mounted on solid ceilings or suspended on chains where drop-rod installations are preferred. The emergency function provides 1.5-2W output for up to 3 hours during a mains power failure. The battery recharges automatically when mains power is restored.

Is the batten dimmable?

No. The integrated LED driver does not support dimming, and dimmer compatibility would interfere with the emergency charging circuit.

What ceiling height does it suit?

The 1800mm length and 120-degree beam angle work well in rooms with ceiling heights between 2.4m and 2.7m, providing uniform light distribution across corridor widths or office zones without creating dark patches between fittings.
