Description

The PowerMaster 5ft batten fitting accepts a single 1537mm T8 LED tube (sold separately) via a single-end connection lampholder, housed in a white powder-coated steel body measuring 62mm wide by 38mm deep. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor environments only — offices, workshops, retail back-of-house areas, garages, storage rooms and residential utility spaces.

Designed for ceiling or wall mounting on a hard surface, the batten connects to 220-240V mains via a rear knock-out gland. The single-end connection means only one end of the tube carries live contacts, with the opposite end acting as a passive support — this simplifies wiring compared to double-end fittings but requires LED tubes specifically rated for single-end operation. The T8 lampholder accepts tubes with a 26mm diameter base.

The 1537mm length suits 5ft ceiling bays common in commercial and industrial builds, and the 62mm width and 38mm projection keep the fitting compact enough to avoid head clearance issues in sub-2.4m ceiling spaces. The white finish blends with standard painted ceilings and wall surfaces. At 0.56kg the fitting mounts securely with two fixing points spaced at the standard 1500mm centres used in suspended ceiling grids.

What tube does this fitting take?

The fitting accepts a single 1537mm T8 LED tube with a 26mm diameter base, wired for single-end connection. The tube is sold separately. Standard double-end T8 tubes will not work in this fitting — the tube must be rated for single-end operation where only one end carries live contacts.

Can this be used in a bathroom or garage?

The IP20 rating means the fitting is not protected against moisture ingress and must only be used in dry indoor locations. It is suitable for a domestic garage provided the space is dry, but not for bathrooms or any area subject to water spray or condensation. For bathrooms the fitting must be installed in Zone 3 only (areas more than 2.4m from the bath or shower).

Is it dimmable?

No. The fitting is not compatible with dimmer switches. Dimming capability depends on the LED tube installed — even if a dimmable tube is fitted, this batten housing does not support dimmer control at the mains connection.

How is it mounted?

The fitting mounts to a ceiling or wall via two fixing points spaced at 1500mm centres, matching standard suspended ceiling grid spacing. Fixings are not supplied. The mains cable enters via a rear knock-out gland.
