Description
The PowerMaster 5ft LED batten houses an integrated 23W LED delivering 2,800 lumens at 4000K cool white through a frosted polycarbonate diffuser. The IP65-rated polycarbonate housing carries stainless steel spring clips at both ends for fixing to ceiling joists or wall surfaces, with cable entry via a gland at one end of the housing.
Designed for workshops, garages, storage areas, commercial corridors and outdoor covered zones, the batten provides wide-angle illumination across a 120-degree beam spread. The IP65 rating protects the internal LED and driver against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction, making the fitting suitable for outdoor locations under eaves, canopies and car ports, as well as damp indoor environments. The fitting runs on 230V mains and is rated for Zones 3, 2 and 1 in bathroom applications but not Zone 0.
The 5ft (1500mm) length suits standard joist spacing in UK commercial and domestic builds. The non-dimmable LED driver is integrated into the housing, so no external control gear is needed. The frosted diffuser hides the LED strip from direct view and spreads light evenly along the 1.5m length, avoiding hotspots and shadows common with single-point sources. The cool white 4000K output sits between warm domestic lighting and the cooler daylight tones used in clinical settings, providing clear visibility for tasks without the yellow cast of 3000K fittings.

Frequently Asked
Can this batten be used outdoors?
Yes. The IP65 rating protects against dust and low-pressure water jets, making the batten suitable for outdoor covered areas such as car ports, sheds, covered walkways and under eaves. It should not be mounted in locations exposed to sustained heavy rain or submersion.
How is the batten mounted?
Stainless steel spring clips at both ends of the housing grip ceiling joists or wall surfaces. The clips slide into recesses along the housing and clamp the fitting in place without requiring screws through the polycarbonate body. Cable entry is via a gland at one end.
Is it suitable for bathrooms?
The batten is rated for bathroom Zones 3, 2 and 1, which includes positions over baths and in shower enclosures provided the fitting is at least 2.25m above the finished floor level. It cannot be used in Zone 0, which is the interior of a bath or shower tray itself.
Does it produce flicker-free light?
PowerMaster markets this range as NCF (Non-Corrosive Fitting) with flicker-free LED technology. The integrated driver provides stable output without the visible flicker sometimes associated with cheaper LED fittings, making it more comfortable for prolonged use in work environments.
